Twitter users make their mark in SA history

Voting in the 2011 local government elections has left President Jacob Zuma feeling liberated, Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille, optimistic, and comedian Trevor Noah having to cope with a multiple choice question. This, according to their Twitter pages, which many others used on Wednesday to inform the public of one thing - that they have made their mark.
“I will vote in Nkandla at 11am. Always a liberating experience!" Zuma tweeted just before casting his vote in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal. DA leader Helen Zille, said: "Just voted. About to leave for PE. We can do it if everyone comes out and votes."She then went onto say she had arrived in PE wearing her new DA T-shirt with a beaded logo. Standup comedian Trevor Noah, was mind-boggled over the array of parties on offer to voters."Man I hate multiple choice. I wish there was an option for 'none of the above'! #myvotingday," he said.
Singer Steve Hofmeyr, famous for his controversial tweets involving throwing U2 concert tickets into the Jukskei river, said: "Ek stem 13h00" (I'll be voting at 13:00). Former Idols presenter Colin Moss had a change of heart over voting ANC. "When I was 18 I voted ANC, in SA's 1st democratic elections. Now will exercise my democratic right NOT to vote for them, time for change," he said.
Radio personality Gareth Cliff said: "Time to choose. Lots of bullshit parties on here...", while Mark Pilgrim, describing himself on twitter as "that bald dude on radio a television" tweeted to a user about his ID: "Mine is from '87! I have hair! RT @BigBradBrown: may have problem voting today. Don't look like the dude in my ID book!"Even twitter traffic celebrity, PigSpotter, kept voters clued up about speed trapping around Johannesburg."Lil miss piglet is running her own lil voting station on the N1 south just before William Nicol off ramp. Throw her a left thumb," PigSpotter advised.
Seems like everyone is getting in on the action!  Helluya for social networking!
